Ahhh! I don’t know if you are actually actually ready for these! I wasn’t when I got them to be honest. These photos are next level. We went all out. Hired our dream photographer, Kareem Virgo of Reem Photography.
Reem photography has a way of making his couples look SO good. Especially black couples. And when I saw his cover shoot of the Married at First Sight couples on Munaluchi Bride Magazine. I immediately fell in love with his work. So much so that I booked him in February for a July engagement shoot.
Let me tell you. These photos were worth the wait! And honestly, I needed the 4 months to plan and style it out. If you follow me on Instagram you know I was up to the wire the day before getting Aaron’s outfits perfect. We shot in Dumbo which is an iconic area of Brooklyn and one of my faves! Our sessions with Reem photography allowed for 2 hours and 2 outfits. Our engagement shoot was on the pricer side of what I think engagement shoots typically cost, but I mean, come on. It’s Reem photography. So Aaron and I decided to splurge and hire Reem photography for our engagement shoot as he was out of our ideal budget for the wedding.
So without further adieu here’s a group of my favorites! They are ALL my favorites but I didn’t want to break my site so I’ve picked a handful (more like a dozen haha). I’ve linked out my outfit details below as well. Just in case you were interested in grabbing your own majestic tulle gown or custom gloves.
Outfit #1: Soft & Sweet, Romantic Glam
For outfit #1 I wanted photos that were glam, soft, romantic. And as soon as I saw this dress I knew it was it. Now when I got it in I had immediate doubts. Is the color right? Is it too much? Does it look “flattering”? I almost didn’t wear it! Huge thanks to Mari and Aaron for telling me to trust my gut. Because WOW. That train?! It’s gorgeous! I’m so glad I wore it. I felt like a princess while wearing it. So many people told me how gorgeous it was as we were shooting and if you didn’t know it takes a lot for a New Yorker to stop and compliment you.
Outfit #1 Details
My Dress: Deep Champagne Maternity Tulle Dress (it’s maternity but over here we wear what we want 😝) The dress comes with an under slip dress but I didn’t want the rounded neckline so I got a different dress to wear underneath from Amazon.
My Earrings: Pearl Drop Earrings
My Shoes: Amina Muaddi Dupes I recommend ordering a half size down or even full size down as without the ankle strap these kept slipping off the back of my foot.
My Under Dress: Khaki bodycon dress
Outfit #2: ⚠️ TOO HOT TO HANDLE ⚠️
I MEAN… Hot DAMN! (I can cuss on my own blog right?) These photos had my mouth on the absolute floor. Like come on. We look like we are about to take over! First Brooklyn! Next…THE WORLD! I was so excited about the idea to center this look around my custom gloves. I got them custom-made from Etsy! (I scoured the internet high and low for these!) They are perfect! I’m debating if I should frame them. I drew the design to have our love story interwoven into them, our date, and the NYC skyline where we fell in love. They are so special and I’m obsessed. Would be so beautiful for a wedding accessory as well!
Outfit #2 Details
Gloves: Custom order from Forma Brand Store – They are located in Ukraine and the seller is so kind! I messaged her and sent her a sketch of my ideas and she replicated it exactly! It’s even my handwriting. ♥️
My Dress: Draped Twist Halter Tie-Back Midi Dress – Paloma
My Earrings: Rhinestone Earrings ; Second Pair because the first were too heavy – Rhinestone Earrings
My Shoes: Rhinestone Sandals
Gah! I’m really speechless. Not much more to say other than I LOVE these photos. Reem photography KILLED IT! Best decision of wedding planning (besides marrying Aaron 🥺) so far!
I repeat. Please please don’t skip out on engagement photos. They are something I know I will cherish forever and I’m sure you will too. ♥️
Taelor has me out here considering custom maternity gowns and wanting to move to NYC to find love. Love seeing you happy!
