So I have been blessed to be apart of my friend Kira’s video on women of color. I don’t think I have talked about how being a woman of color has impacted my life on my blog yet so this is exciting and important for me to do.
As an African-American female it is important for me to make my ancestors proud. The long list of strong women who have fought for me to have and do the things that I love to do. There has been plenty of time where I have wanted to give up – my blog, in school. But I can’t. I refuse to. I hope that one day I am able to encourage young women of color after just as I have been inspired by the ones before me. So until then I fight to embrace my skin and the beauty that radiates from it.
